Bosses are characters that are encountered during your progression through a Zone. There are three Bosses within each Zone. You cannot progress into the next Zone until you have defeated the third/final Boss in the preceding Zone.
Once you have defeated a Boss, you can attempt to defeat their city again and again through the Boss Zone to give new Monsters XP, and/or to earn Element X or in some cases, Dark Matter.
